OmPrompt POD allows drivers to register delivery information into a web-based Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system using the keypad on a mobile phone. The driver is prompted by instructions that can be recorded in any language.
As increasing numbers of transport providers find managing assets through a fragmented supply chain difficult and costly, OmPrompt POD makes real time delivery information available to everyone because it requires no additional hardware or technical expertise.
LSP’s (logistics service providers) can communicate POD information well within the deadlines of their service level agreements with customers. Timely proof of delivery is absolutely critical to LSPs and their customers, as delayed or missing documentation provides loopholes and leverage for protracted disputes that can cost tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of pounds a year.
“Carriers – whether they employ banks of telephone operators to take delivery information from drivers, or have the headache of maintaining communications systems out in the field - can reduce inventory down to a single piece of hardware – a mobile phone,” commented John Wakeman, CEO of OmPrompt. “They don’t even have to maintain the software, OmPrompt does that for them, and all the crucial data is available to view in real-time from the web.”
Customarily, carriers have been forced to purchase expensive in-cab hardware or handheld PDA’s, but adoption has not been universal because of the complexity of engagement between the tiers of transport providers operating throughout the sector. Wakeman: “OmPrompt’s technology means every LSP can self-manage their POD’s quickly, reliably and with no capital outlay.”
